Mujeres de Fuego
Narrated by Natalia Lafourcade, this co-production with La Corriente del Golfo Podcast tells the story of the uprising and organization that took place in the town of Cherán, Michoacán, when a group of Purépecha women decided to put a stop to the loggers who had destroyed 70% of the forests in the area.
They always said, “It wasn’t one: it was all of us.” At that moment, they could not have imagined that this brave act of putting their bodies on the line would be the first gesture of a peaceful resistance that would transform the life of their community forever.
